Job Description: 

Overview

Seeking dedicated Parking Attendants to provide exceptional customer service, lot and crowd management, and parking-related sales and services at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium Complex (Aud). Ideal candidates will ensure smooth traffic flow and assist patrons with their parking needs during events.

 

(Temporary Part Time for Approximately 12 Months)

Responsibilities

  • Manages traffic entering and exiting parking lots, and monitors parking options and access.
  • Provides directions and general event and building information to parking lot customers, assesses patron needs, and communicates clearly.
  • Keeps traffic moving smoothly and assist customers who have difficulty exiting the parking lot.
  • Patrols the parking lot and report problems to appropriate staff (e.g., vehicles running, lights left on).
  • Fills out incident reports as required.
  • Takes direction and deployment from The Aud management team.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education

  • Minimum equivalent to partial secondary school education.

Experience

  • Up to 1 month of related experience.

Additional Requirements

  • Hours of Work: Fluctuate with event bookings.
  • Approximately 4 - 16 hours per week on average from September – March, to a maximum of 24 hours per week.
  • Expected availability on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
  • Cash Handling/Transaction Processing with POS.
  • Usage of two-way radio (walkie-talkie).
  • Role is exclusively out of doors in all weather conditions including rain, sun, or snow.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Physically able to perform the essential duties of the position in all outdoor conditions and weather.
  • Ability to wear outdoor appropriate clothing, in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to perform manual labor with prolonged walking/standing/being outdoors.
  • Ability to wear outdoor appropriate clothing, in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Ability to interact positively with members of the public.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and initiative.
  • Reliable with a good attitude and employment record.
