As a Marketing Associate at the AUD and Community Arenas, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive communication and marketing plans to promote a wide range of events and programs. This role involves creating engaging content, managing social media channels, coordinating with event organizers, and ensuring consistent brand across all platforms. This role plays a key part in driving revenue, enhancing customer experience, and supporting strategic initiatives across The Aud and Community Arenas, including sponsorship, advertising, and audience engagement programs.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and evaluate marketing and communications strategies to promote events, programs, facilities, and services.
- Create and manage multi-channel marketing campaigns, including digital advertising, social media, email marketing, website content, print materials. , and media relations.
- Draft communications and support media releases for special events and announcements.
- Identify media opportunities and coordinate interviews with promoters, partners and internal stakeholders.
- Plan, design and execute e-newsletter campaigns with a focus on audience growth and engagement.
- Develop and distribute “Know Before You Go” communications for major events, enhancing the customer experience.
- Coordinate event marketing plans with promoters, sponsors, media partners, and internal stakeholders to maximize attendance and engagement.
- Design event layouts, seating configurations, and floor plans.
- Create and maintain AutoCAD seating maps, floor plans and rigging layouts to support event planning and operations.
- Design ticket scaling maps, ensuring accurate pricing structures and seating configurations.
- Produce directional signage, credentials, and access materials to support safety, operations and customer experience.
- Collaborate on facility enhancements, including signage, visual displays, and customer experience improvements.
- Maintain and update websites, event listings, and digital assets while monitoring analytics and campaign performance metrics.
- Manage venue advertising and sponsorship programs, including relationship management, contract fulfillment – installation and execution of advertising assets, sponsorship activations, and revenue tracking.
- Develop sales materials and support new business opportunities to increase sponsorship and advertising revenue.
- Oversee digital and physical signage, wayfinding, branding, and promotional displays throughout facilities.
- Manage and maintain internal digital signage systems (including billboards, marquee entrances, internal TV screens and dressing room displays), ensuring content is current and systems are fully operational. Coordinate with external vendors to troubleshoot technical issues and ensure timely repairs.
- Lead the development of communications during emergency or crisis situations and provide support to internal teams and emergency services as required.
- Monitor marketing budgets, track expenditures, and evaluate return on investment for campaigns and promotional initiatives.
- Prepare reports and analyze event attendance, ticket sales, digital engagement, sponsorship performance, and marketing effectiveness.
- Collaborate with operations, ticketing, finance, communications, and external partners to support successful event execution and enhance customer experience.
- Lead marketing meetings with promoters, partners and internal stakeholders to define campaign objectives, target audiences, timelines and budgets and provide strategic marketing guidance.
- Contribute as an active member of The Aud and Arenas team supporting strategic planning and decision making.
- Lead the development and implementation of marketing and communications plans for divisional initiates and projects.
- Participate in cross-functional teams and committees, providing marketing expertise across the Sport Division.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education
- Minimum 3-year degree or diploma in a related field (e.g. Marketing, Commerce, Business Administration, or Communications).
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of related experience.
- Experience in monitoring event budgets and recommending advertising strategies.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
- Ability to use AutoCAD to create layouts, seating charts, and event floor plans.
- Ability to use website management software, survey software (e.g. iSurvey), time tracking systems (e.g., Harvest), and design software (e.g., iCreate).
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to build relationships with clients, sponsors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to develop marketing content and liaise with promoters.
Strong knowledge ofmarketing functions, communicaions theory, and best practices. - Attention to detail to ensure consistency across media outlets.
- Excellent organizational, project and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines for multiple events, trade shows and programs in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to create and manage marketing content across various platroms (print, web, mobile).
Strong analytical skills with experience tracking campaign performance, budgets, and marketing metrics. - Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and develop creative solutions to support business objectives.
- Ability to work occasionally evenings and weekends to support events and promotional activities.
