Overview
This position is Temporary Part-Time for approximately 12 months.
Seeking a dedicated Dance Instructor to teach dance classes starting in the fall. An ideal candidate will have experience in dance instruction, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to fostering creativity in a safe and welcoming environment. The position will start with 1 to 2 programs per week during the fall session.
Responsibilities
- Develop and conduct engaging dance programs for participants, ensuring they meet required standards.
- Demonstrate and teach dance techniques using established methods, providing helpful feedback to participants.
- Explain and enforce safety rules for dance activities and equipment use.
- Gather and organize necessary dance supplies and equipment.
- Maintain accurate records, including class attendance and incident reports, and distribute relevant forms and program information.
- Ensure dance equipment is used safely, kept in good condition, and stored properly.
- Respond to participants' immediate concerns and needs, providing excellent customer service.
- Act as a bridge between the facility and participants.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of related experience including providing instruction in a program setting.
Skill Equivalency (if applicable)

- Ability to support and project values compatible with the organization.
- Be able to work flexible hours including daytime, evening, weekends, and holidays, depending on the needs of the program.
- Provide a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check at your own expense as a condition of employment.
- Valid Emergency First Aid and CPR Level “C” or willing to obtain within 3 months of hire.
