Overview
This position is Temporary Part-Time for approximately 4 months.
Kitchener's Bikecheck is like a coat check, only for your bike! People ride their bikes to an event with Bikecheck, then they can hand their bikes to one of the attendants so they can enjoy the event without having to worry about their bike. Events are held at various locations in Kitchener throughout the summer.
Responsibilities
- Provide a positive experience for residents by providing great customer service (i.e., answering questions about Bike Check and how it works).
- Depending on shift times, may be responsible for setting up tables, tents and bike racks, and/or taking down tables, tents and bike racks.
- Responsible for parking and/or returning bikes as well as recording the ins/outs of bikes.
- Supporting volunteers to ensure they have a positive experience, in cooperation with the Marketing & Events Student and Manager, Active Transportation and Development.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education
- Minimum equivalent to partial secondary school education.
Experience
- Up to 1 month of related experience including customer service.

- Ability to follow through on tasks independently once given directions.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Reliable with a good attitude and employment record.
