Overview
The Arborist works collaboratively with other Forestry team members to perform year-round urban tree care using a variety of techniques and arboriculture equipment. This position performs routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment and is involved in full cycle of tree care from planting pruning, maintenance and removals.
(Temporary Full Time for Approximately 10 Months)
Responsibilities
- Performs a variety of tasks in a team environment, related to tree care including but not limited to planting, pruning and removing trees using various equipment/machinery and climbing techniques
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education
- Minimum Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
Experience
- Experience in proper care and operation of Forestry related equipment including Chipper, Stumper, Chipper Truck and Aerial device.
- Experience in climbing techniques and necessary apparatus (subject to testing).
Skill Equivalency (if applicable)
Additional Requirements
- ISA certification in good standing or an ON certified Arborist.
- Valid MTO “DZ” driver's license in good standing.
- Must hold a Chainsaw Operator Certificate or License.
