Responsibilities

You are required to work with minimal supervision in all phases of the operation of a Multi-use Facility.  The incumbent will be required to assess work priorities and carry out duties with minimal supervision.

Duties included but not limited to:
•    Building/equipment maintenance, customer service and janitorial duties. 
•    Ice making and maintenance. 
•    Direct and coordinate part-time employees. 
•    Event set-up/conversions - Kitchener Auditorium Complex. 
•    Maintains sports fields in the summer, including cutting grass, line trimming, general litter clean-up. 

Education

  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.

Experience

  • 12 months experience working in an artificial ice arena. 

Additional Requirements

  • Attend and successfully complete emergency first-aid training. 
  • Valid "G" class driver's license in good standing. 
  • Valid TSSA Refrigeration Operator B certificate. 
  • Successfully complete required progression criteria as it relates to this position (CUPE 68). 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Successfully complete required progression criteria as it relates to this position (CUPE 68).
  • Be flexible to work varying shifts, WEEKENDS, HOLIDAYS, and overtime as required.
  • Have demonstrated communication skills with a customer service focus.
  • Be able to keep accurate records and logs for facility incidents and equipment.
  • Be prepared to be trained in the operation of all related equipment and work skills
  • Be a team player.
  • Be willing to attend mandatory staff training sessions and successfully pass the course requirements.
  • Have the ability to support and project values compatible with the organization.
  • Have or be able to obtain computer competency in ActiveNet, Building Controls and Outlook, as well as basic Microsoft Office.
  • Be reliable with a good attitude and employment record.
