Responsibilities
You are required to work with minimal supervision in all phases of the operation of a Multi-use Facility. The incumbent will be required to assess work priorities and carry out duties with minimal supervision.
Duties included but not limited to:
• Building/equipment maintenance, customer service and janitorial duties.
• Ice making and maintenance.
• Direct and coordinate part-time employees.
• Event set-up/conversions - Kitchener Auditorium Complex.
• Maintains sports fields in the summer, including cutting grass, line trimming, general litter clean-up.
Education
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
Experience
- 12 months experience working in an artificial ice arena.
Additional Requirements
- Attend and successfully complete emergency first-aid training.
- Valid "G" class driver's license in good standing.
- Valid TSSA Refrigeration Operator B certificate.
- Successfully complete required progression criteria as it relates to this position (CUPE 68).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Be flexible to work varying shifts, WEEKENDS, HOLIDAYS, and overtime as required.
- Have demonstrated communication skills with a customer service focus.
- Be able to keep accurate records and logs for facility incidents and equipment.
- Be prepared to be trained in the operation of all related equipment and work skills
- Be a team player.
- Be willing to attend mandatory staff training sessions and successfully pass the course requirements.
- Have the ability to support and project values compatible with the organization.
- Have or be able to obtain computer competency in ActiveNet, Building Controls and Outlook, as well as basic Microsoft Office.
- Be reliable with a good attitude and employment record.
