Job Description: 

Overview

This position assists in maintenance and operation of the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium (The Aud).

Responsibilities

  • Building and equipment maintenance, Customer services and janitorial duties.
  • Ice making and maintenance.
  • Coordinates the work and direction to part-time/casual staff.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. 

Education

  • Minimum grade 12 diploma or equivalent.

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year experience in operating and maintaining an artificial ice facility.

Additional Requirements

  • Valid MTO Class G driver’s license in good standing with the ability to provide a clean Drivers Abstract at your own expense as a condition of employment.
  • Flexible to work varying shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to complete course training in preparing and installing ice surfaces for recreational facilities.
  • Ability to complete ORFA courses in safe standard of ice services for compliance with ORFA and progress through progression criteria to Facility Operator Technician.
  • Demonstrated communication/customer service skills.
  • Ability to keep accurate written records.
  • Physical labour is a requirement of this position, must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Ability to participate as an effective team member.
  • Willing to attend all mandatory staff training sessions and successfully pass the course requirements.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Must successfully complete all required professional criteria as it relates to this job title.
  • Reliable with a good attitude and employment record.
